Have you ever spent so much time trying to figure out how to do things "right" that you forget the reason why you were doing [it] in the first place?
I'll be the first to admit that I find myself over thinking a lot of situations that really don't need to be given that much thought.
But I will tell you that calling, purpose and God's will over my life are top of mind & the most important in this season.
Like most of us, my desire is to get to heaven with a life that's poured out. With nothing left.
I know..who knew you had to leave so much behind to get closer to your Creator? But I have learned that being a follower of Christ isn't a "walk in the park", but a decision that will mark and bless your life forever.
Going back to "forgetting the reasons why we do things"...Throughout this recent [transition] in my life, I have been #shifted, molded, broken, built back up and STILL realize that I have so much to learn.
One of my deepest and most precious desires is to worship with the same passion we worship when our door is closed and it's just God in the room.
Worship to me is laying down your life. Leaving it all on the alter for a God who's been good, regardless of your situation.
When we choose to worship, we give room for Him to work in the midst of our circumstance.
Most of us can agree that everyday is a sacrifice of praise. Whether it's constant chaos in your home or a job that's overwhelming; praising your way through IS the only way to get through.
So too often I find myself thinking "what are right ways to worship God?" "What are the right things to say?" or "Maybe if I read my bible twice a day instead of just once, the anointing will be greater?!"
I can see Him now... laughing at all my crazy thoughts. When really, all God wants is US.
Just as we are, with an open and willing heart ready to worship and encounter His love! Meanwhile, bringing His church along for the experience.
I can relate to that story about Jeremiah-- excuse me, ::cough:: I USE to relate to that story. Jeremiah doubted he could be used because he couldn't speak, but the Lord told him in Jeremiah 1:7-8 "You must go everywhere I send you, and you must say everything I tell you to say. Don’t be afraid of anyone, because I am with you to protect you." Then He says in Jeremiah 1:9-10 "I am putting my words in your mouth. Today I have put you in charge of nations and kingdoms. You will pull up and tear down, destroy and overthrow, build up and plant."
When I read that, I remember that I AM qualified, that I was chosen from my mother’s womb and have been set apart for the works of the kingdom. And so are YOU!
We think that we need to have it all together before coming to God, to be used, or to fulfill our destiny. But when your faith is in the blood that cleanses you continuously, you realize that God already sees you as perfect and that He's only waiting for YOU to realize it and come as you are.
He already chose you, and there is nothing you can do to ever make Him change His mind. His desire is to bless you and give you the desires of your heart. Better yet, He's the one who put those desires in you. All you have to do is surrender and let Him move.
